Improving and developing my CV
Improving and developing my CV
In addition to beginning the tasks in Section 2 I have been exploring ways in which to further improve my CV. As mentioned in my previous blog post (Professional Profile) after discussing CV’s with more experienced members of Coastal City Ballet I was able to whittle down what I have outgrown and ensure every piece of information included is relevant. I then proceeded to research online and found numerous articles with helpful hints including a list of do’s and dont’s when writing a CV.
After reading these articles I decided to disregard some of my previous performance experience and focus on going into more detail with my most recent work. I have also placed my performance experience before my training so that my most recent professional work will be the first thing a director sees. I chose to do this because I now have much more professional performance experience whilst dancing with Coastal City Ballet as opposed to being fresh out of school. Although I have listed my academic qualifications it would depend on the job I was applying for as to whether or not I would include these. You can find the updated version of my CV in the ‘About Me’ blog post.
